Meet the Author

Marianne
Van Osch 

Marianne grew up in Port Abino, Ontario and went to school in Crystal Beach, where she later taught for 20 years. Always an enthusiast for the written word, Marianne continued to write after moving to the Cariboo region of BC. She worked at the 100 Mile Free Press for over 25 years, first as a District Correspondent and later, as a journalist chronicling regional stories and events. Her freelance work has appeared in many Canadian magazines.
Marianne is an author, historian and storyteller. Along with writing the biographies of Cariboo pioneers, she also works with people who are interested in writing their own memoirs.
